Community Youth Program Coordinator

Project Respect is looking for a dynamic Community Youth Program Coordinator to join our team in late August. This position is a 28-35 hrs/week contract position until September 2023. Open until Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 11:59pm.

Position Summary: The Community Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of Victoria Sexual Assault Centre’s (VSAC’s) Project Respect community- and school-based initiatives, including the delivery of intervention and prevention workshops to youth and adults (e.g., anti-racism braver spaces for teachers and adult caregivers, bystander intervention for Black youth, sexualized violence prevention for youth, and safer spaces for teachers), Project Respect Youth Council, and youth-led social action projects.

Auxiliary Access & Daytime Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Worker

Auxiliary Access Line position provides support and information to all contacts on VSAC Access Line and email. The Worker assess’ contacts for VSAC services including Sexual Assault Response Team (all genders), counselling programs for all women, trans, two-spirit and gender diverse persons who are survivors of sexualized violence and their supporters (all genders), and victim service program for all women, trans, two-spirit and gender diverse persons who are survivors of sexualized violence. The Worker also provides referrals to other community resources where appropriate. This position includes data management and file creation for client files.

Daytime SART position is responsible for monitoring the Sexual Assault Response Team pager and providing support, information and accompaniment to survivors (all genders) of recent sexual assault and their supporters. This position provides phone and in-person support to recent survivors of sexual assault at the hospital or VSAC clinic or police stations.
