Meet Our Victim Service Workers

Shannon
(she/her)

Victim Services

Hello! My name is Shannon and I have been with the Victim Service team at VSAC since 2015. I enjoy doing this work as I get to witness strength and resilience every day. Originally from the prairies, I have been fortunate enough to live on lək̓ʷəŋən territory since 2015 with my husband, step daughter, and two shih tzu puppies.

Jaq
(they/them)

Victim Services

Jaq is a queer, white, Latinx settler on lək̓ʷəŋən territory. They have worked in the areas of addictions, mental health, poverty, and anti-violence for the last 18 years. Before joining our team as our new Victim Service Worker, Jaq has previously been in the roles of Inclusion Coordinator, Crisis Counsellor, and part of our Sexual Assault Response Team. They are passionate about doing justice and healing work through the lens of transformative, anti-oppressive, response-based and trauma informed practices. In their personal time, Jaq is often learning a new craft or hanging out with their partner and 4 cats.

Clare

Victim Services

Hi there! I joined VSAC as a Victim Service Worker in May 2025, after a few years doing similar work with children and youth. My background is in social work, with a focus on anti-oppressive practice and community-building. I am originally from Toronto, with Irish and Scottish ancestry. I moved to “Victoria” in 2020, and I am very grateful to be in relationship with the land and the lək̓ʷəŋən People, represented today by the Songhees and Xwsepsum Nations.
