The Victoria Sexual Assault Centre (VSAC) is seeking a passionate, values-driven Executive Director to lead our organization into its next chapter. This role is rooted in compassion, courage, and a deep commitment to equity, justice, and healing.

For over 40 years, VSAC has supported survivors of sexualized violence through counselling, advocacy, education, and prevention. As Executive Director, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to a dedicated team, while championing our mission to end sexualized violence.


About the Role

As Executive Director, you will:

  • Provide visionary leadership grounded in anti-racism, decolonial, and intersectional feminist practices

  • Support and guide a diverse, unionized team

  • Oversee operations, programs, and financial sustainability (budget $2M+)

  • Build strong relationships with community partners, funders, and government

  • Serve as a key spokesperson and advocate for systemic change

You’ll work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and community to ensure VSAC continues to grow, adapt, and respond to the evolving needs of survivors.


Who This Role Is For

We’re looking for a collaborative and experienced leader who:

  • Brings senior leadership experience, ideally in a unionized environment

  • Has strong knowledge of anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and decolonial frameworks

  • Can support teams in navigating complex and meaningful work

  • Has experience in financial oversight, fundraising, and government relations

  • Values relationship-building, transparency, and community engagement

Position Details

  • Location: Victoria, BC (primarily in-person)

  • Hours: 35 hours/week (with occasional evenings/weekends)

  • Salary: Starting from $109,000 + benefits, pension, and generous leave

  • Start Date: August 1 (flexible onboarding possible)
